Last Saturday Hubby and I decided it was time to get out of Portland for the day. We were tired of the rain and Oregon gray we have been enjoying for the last few weeks. So we sent Trixie to our son's for the day to play with
Meeka, loaded the car up with some junk food :) and off we went to explore the Gorge. We take this trip several times a year and always find something or someplace new to explore. This time was no different.
Mitchell Point
Looking west toward Portland.
Downtown Hood River, Oregon. We spent several hours exploring the little shops and had lunch at 6
th St Bistro.
Yumm!
We had miles to drive so we did not take the tour at Full Sail Brewery. Maybe next time!
Memaloose Island
Vicor Trevitt's grave marker on
Memaloos Island.
Lily ???
Looking east from the
Memaloose Lookout. I see BLUE sky!!
We decided to drive home on the Washington side of the gorge. Just look at what we would have missed if we hadn't crossed the river in The
Dalles, Oregon.
Exotic Deer
and my favorite
American Bison!!!!
Fine end to our trip.
Sunshine and Bison.
What a fun trip :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE doing that trip. I stay at Skamania Lodge sometimes and go to Maryhill museum and Stonehenge, one day I hope to go further.
Love the pics, the Bison awesome :)
It is a good job you didn't go the week before, my daughter had to drive to Hood River for an interview and she texted her Dad (we were in S.D) that it was snowing, we were stunned!
Evie, thank you so much for your sweet comment :)
Have a lovely Weekend, Cheers, T. :)
