One of our stops on our October 2012 roadtrip. Neither of us had been to Imnaha, Oregon before and all we can say is WOW!!! what a beautiful piece of Oregon. We are both looking forward to going back and doing more exporing.
Hubby and I have been so busy this fall!!! I have lots of pictures to share from our last road trip, hopefully I'll get some computer time this weekend. The agate in this pendant is one of the treasures we found on our road trip.
I fell in love the minute I spotted this stone. One of my favorite lapidary artist, Joel Baskin from Wolf Creek, Oregon cut this Blue Peruvian Opal cabochon from a slab he has had for 20 years. He was able to get 2 cabs out of this slab, and yes, I bought both of them. Shhhh, don't tell my Hubby, but the other one I'm keeping. ; )
Such a busy week at my day job (training on new software) that I was exhausted when I finally made it home. I did however manage to complete a new pair of "purple power" earrings for the shop and a custom order for a family friend. Now off to clean the house which was neglected this whole week!!! Have a great weekend everyone!!
Purple Power Amethyst Earrings
I would have loved to have been able to keep this piece of coral for myself.
We had a very busy weekend!!! It was My Hubby's week to work Saturday, so while he was at work I played in the studio. Then we went "wedding shopping" with our kids. I finally found shoes to go with my dress!!!! Yippie!!!!! I think My Hubby only needs a tie and cuff links. We'll be working on those cuff links in the studio this week.
So here are pretties I managed to complete Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Yes, did work into the wee hours of the morning, but I tend to loose track of time when I get in the "zone"
I got my road trip last weekend!!!! To my surprise My Hubby wanted to go the
Prineville Rock Show on Sunday after working 6 long days last week. We were on
the road early Sunday morning and took the scenic route going and coming. The
weather was perfect, we left rainy Portland and enjoyed the SUNSHINE on the
east side of the Cascades. Oh how we enjoyed soaking up that vitamin D!!!!
Here are some of the sights we took in. Oh, I did buy some new cabochons
Our first stop was the Warm Springs fish hatchery to stretch our legs and
enjoy the vitamin D.
Holding tank full of salmon
WOW long way to swim home
We spotted a small group of Rocky Mt Elk on our way home. Can you see the size of his antlers?
It has been a busy time here in the home of My Wife's Studio! Wedding plans, shopping for my mother of the groom dress, planning the rehearsal dinner, doing a small showing of my jewelry, the very special bridal shower, family recovering for surgery. I'm sure all of you also have very full days and I am not complaining, so far everything is moving along nicely.
Today, we are celebrating a high school graduation with family and friends!! And I have ordered my dress for the wedding!!!!! Woo Hoo!!
Here are a few pieces I have been able to complete during the wonderful busy Spring!!
