Hmm Ribs!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer weekend. Hubby has 2 racks of baby back ribs in the smoker. They smell sooo good. Pecan smoke, oh almost heaven. We're a few hours away from ribs and potato salad for dinner. No, they don't taste like chicken.
Dessert will be grilled peaches yum!
Okay, Recipie Revealed:
Peaches and or Nectarines (RIPE)
Halved, coated in butter both sides
Pinch of Cinammon (I like Saigon)
Grill skin side down on indirect heat
until bubbly. Flip pit side down only
long enough to leave grill marks.
Serve with Fresh, Home made Vanilla
ice cream if you are brave enough.
This is Southern Delight and tends to be
a little over the top for the Portland crowd.
Enjoy, it is ALL Good!!

TGIF!!!!!

Hi! I hope everyone enjoyed Trixie's take on our recent road trip. She is very easy to travel with and we enjoy taking her with us as much as possible. I'm sure we will have many more road trips with her. Miniature Pincher lived between 14 - 18 yrs and Trix will be 8 next month, so we see many more years of adventures with her.
Here are some of the pieces I've been working on this week. The ring and turquoise bracelet have already been listed in my Etsy shop. The other bracelet will the listed sometime this weekend. It sports one of our Oregon Beach finds.
Have a great weekend!!

Picture from the last day of our roadtrip

Hi Everyone! Ready for the last day of my big adventure?
On Saturday Mom and Dad got a rock hounding map from Elkin's Gem Stones in Prineville. So on Sunday we got an early start and went out exploring.
Our first stop was Blue Ridge Mine. As you can see from Mom's pictures the mine has been abandoned for some time. It smelled very interesting, Dad thought there was too much broken glass on the floor for me to do any exploring. Mom and I just looked inside.
Next we were off to Big Summit Prairie. Along the way we noticed people harvesting pine cones. There were bags and bags of them piled up along the road. There were also lots of cows!!!!! I just love barking at cows. I haven't figured out how to make them run away yet. But barking at them is lots of fun!
When we finally got to Big Summit Prairie it was in full bloom, and we could not keep Mom in the truck. She was out with her camera taking lots of pictures of flowers. I just thought it would be a fun places to run and run and run, but they would not take my leash off.
Then back in the truck and back to Prineville for ice cream at the Tasty Freeze. Dad bought chocolate ice cream so we could not share. I am addicted to chocolate big time! I will find it if it is in the house, so Mom works very hard at keeping it from me. I've had to go to the doctor 2 times because I've eaten too much chocolate. You'd think I'd learn, but I am a dog. Mom thought of me and bought vanilla ice cream so we could share. Yummy!!!
After all that ice cream it was time to head home. We all had a very fun time on our adventure, but it was nice to sleep in my own bed.
I heard Mom talking about a trip up the Columbia River Gorge. I am ready...Let's Go!!!!!!!
Bye for now, Trixie

Second day of our road trip

Hi! I am back to show you more pictures of our road trip. On day two we all slept in. I love sleeping with Mom and Dad!! After we all had breakfast, Mom shared her bagel and cream cheese with me, we set out to see Dad's favorite Aunt and Uncle. He had not seen them in 3yrs so we had a nice long visit before setting off to explore the area around Prineville, OR. We walked around and Mom took some pictures of the courthouse and the statue. Then Dad drove off down to road to explore. Mom took lots of pictures of flowers and rock formations. Dad stopped and did some exploring around a spruce tree that had been hit by lighting. Pretty cool stuff. FYI Mom did share her fry bread with me. Yummy!! I have more to show you tomorrow, Bye for now Trixie.
Hi Debbie, I thought of you while we walked around Bend. The Mill District is so pretty! We had a great Happy Hour at Anthony's and did a little window shopping. I can't wait to go back!!

Trixie here

Hi, Trixie here, Mom said I could tell you all about our weekend! So let me tell you and show you what we did on Friday. I love going on road trips with Mom and Dad, they go to such fun places!
Our first stop on Friday was in Warm Springs for some warm Indian Fry Bread. It was so yummy, thanks Mom for sharing. Our next stop was to the rock show at the fairgrounds in Madras. Then off to your condo in Bend. After we unpacked and I had dinner it was time for Mom and Dad to have their dinner.
So we went to the Mill district of Bend and I guarded the truck while they had dinner. Mom had a glass of her favorite beer, which is brewed in Bend.
After dinner the three of us took a walk along The Deschutes River in downtown Bend. I asked Mom to take a picture of me with all the flowers blooming along the river walk.
Mom has a lot more pictures but I'll save those for the next blog. Bye for now! Trixie
