Buffalo for Valentines Day

My Hubby knows what I love!!! We've been together for almost 33 years, so I guess by now he should know these things! :)

I love American Bison/Buffalo! I love spending time in both Yellowstone and Grand Teton Nat'l Parks just sitting and watching the bison. I think my first time in Yellowstone I took over 2 hundred pictures the first day, and yes, most of them were of the bison in Hayden Valley.

So, I was very happy on Valentines Day to receive this plaque by Dean Crouser!!!! Please stop by his web site and take a look around. His use of color is amazing!!!

We had a very busy weekend!!

Last weekend My Hubby's favorite great uncle turned 88 years old and along with other family members we made the trip to Prineville, Oregon to help him celebrate. Happy Birthday Uncle Shorty!!!! We Love You!!! We had a wonderful time and thanks for sharing your home with all of us!

Even though is was Uncle Shorty's birthday I came home with this beautiful gift! Thanks !!! I also have another painting coming, "paint" me very happy!! Uncle Shorty is a self taught artist, working in oils. He paints mostly landscapes from his childhood in New Mexico/Texas area, and of course lots of wildlife.

This is what the weather was like on our way to Prineville, snow and wind. Coming home we had lighter snow and very little wind. A much nicer trip!

And of course what's a birthday with out lots of home cooked food? Chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans with hamhock, salad and ice tea. Mmm Mmmm southern food!! Thanks to Aunt Naomi no one went hungry! And of course there was a large chocolate birthday cake. We were all stuffed!

Here are a few pieces I managed to finish last week.
Jasper Necklaces

Freshwater Pearl and Feather Necklace

Biggs Jasper Necklace

I hope everyone had as much fun last weekend as we did!

My sister and I try to give each other Christmas gifts that mean a lot more than they cost. This year I received a beautiful ring from her collection that I've drooled over for years. Thanks Sis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My hubby and I gave her a trip to Shipwreck Beads in Lacy, Washington. We chose Sunday as trip day and my sister wasn't able to sleep the night before. She was like a child waiting for Santa!

My sister loves grab bags, and the picture above shows her examining two of her grab bags. We all had a blast!!!

I'm Not Sure This is Helping???

Fryite or Snake River Picture Jasper Necklace
Notice the sunshine reflecting in the polish on this stone! Wish I had purchased a few more cabs last fall.
Okay, I'm not sure this new clock helped much. It was 12am when I closed the studio door this morning! And today I can really feel it. I'm pooped. Good thing we're having left overs for dinner. I'll be getting bed much earlier tonight. ( I hope!!!)

No Clock in the Studio

What was I thinking last night?? I was enjoyed a nice quite evening in the studio. Working away, oblivious to everything except my jewelry. Then I noticed it was getting very cold in the studio, so I opened the door and everything in the rest of the house was quiet and dark. Where was Trixie and Hubby? I took a peak at the clock....what!!! 1:30am!! I have to be to work at 8am. After cleaning up the studio and getting my pjs on it was 2am. Errrr this was going to be long day. But it gets better, I woke up at 7:20am "@#%$" and a few other words. Some how I managed to get to work on time. I told Mom this morning what had happen, and guess what..about 2pm this afternoon she appeared with a wall clock for my studio. No more excuses! Thanks Mom, you're the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
