It has been a quiet sunny weekend in our household!!! I finished two necklaces last night, a Mexican opal and a piece of Oregon picture jasper. This morning I took a little tour of my flowers to see what had survived our rainy spring and found a few blooms. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!! Off to a BBQ with family...Mmm steak....

Hearts of Summer
My Hubby and I went cab hunting this weekend at two of our local lapidary shop. We made a day of it and came home with a handful of new stones. I picked up these two heart shaped Turquoise cabs and set them yesterday. I am very pleased with the first one and will be in my Etsy shop soon. The other one I had some difficulties with soldering the beading down, so for now I am wearing it.
I hope everyone had a great Father's Day! Welcome to Summer!!! Here in the Pacific North West we are waiting for the sun to shine. I am hearing rumors of high 70's tomorrow...better go find some summer clothes to wear. I think they are in the back of my closet somewhere!

Sunny Sunday Morning
Thursday, June 10, 2010
Sometimes you just need a little something to wear.
I told my hubby that sometime you just need a little necklace to wear. So last night I made these three tiny necklaces. The "bean" and black stone necklace are made from Oregon beach pebbles, and the flower is made from copper rescued from a scrap pile. All are less an 1" and hang on 18" silver chain.
And yes that is rain you see in the photos. I hear that there is SUN in the forecast for this weekend. Yeah!!!

New Earrings and a Gift from a Very Special Friend
Over the weekend I was outside checking to see if any of our flowers have survived our very wet spring. Sorry to say the irises and peonies did not. Neither did my hubbies poppies. But some of my lilies are blooming and the honeysuckle has buds. And there are apples on one of the apple trees! Mmm apple pie this fall. To celebrate the sweet smell of honeysuckle to come I made these brass earrings. Yes, it is still wet in my backyard, but the lawn is mowed and the forecast is showing SUN this weekend.

Mowed Lawn!!!! and A New Turquoise Necklace
Yeah!!!! The lawn is semi dry and my hubby is outside mowing the lawn while Trixie watches. I think she's smiling. I added of picture of "happy Trixie" so you all could see what a ham she is. (Please don't hate her for wearing an Oregon Duck coat if you are an Oregon Beaver's fan, my mother made it for her. )
I hear we'll be seeing the sun here the PacificNorthWest tomorrow. Hmm where are my capris???
Here is my latest necklase, it was added to my Etsy shop earlier this evening.

Wet Dog and New Earrings
These earrings are a result of my doodling after our weekend road trip. Yes it was raining when I took these pictures today. I know there are rain dances are there also sun dances????
We were 1/2 through our afternoon walk when the sky open up and the rain poured. We were both soaked through by the time we hit the door. Trixie does not like to get her feet wet, so I got the evil eye from her when the rain started. Poor puppy!! She was much happier after a quick wipe down and a cookie. Then off to my bed to hide under her blanket.
I WON!!!
Look what was waiting for me yesterday when I got home. The yunomi I won from Splitfirepottery! It is beautiful and this afternoon I plan on have my first of many cups of tea from my new yunomi. Please stop by splitfirepottery.etsy.com and take look at all the beautiful pottery. Then go to William's blog (splitfirepottery.blogspot.com) and read how my new cup was made. I would love to see his kiln. Thanks!!!!
