Our Son and the BIG Yellow Truck
He may not have a vintage dress to try on, but he was very excited to start the work needed to get the truck ready for the big day. His plan is to use the truck in their wedding. The truck was purchased by my hubby a few months before we were married in 1978. (I got to pick the color, and I never lost it in a parking lot!) We drove it on our honeymoon. :) I drove it to work while I was pregnant with our son. I'm told it was very funny to watch me at 9 month trying to getting in and out. Once our son got his license the BIG truck became his vehicle until he started college. Now it needs some love so it will be ready for the big day. FYI, being BIG, yellow and only getting 9miles to the gallon, made it easy to keep track of him in High School. Someone was bound to tell Mom or Dad if the saw him out and about. :)
It needed a bath before starting its journey. This is the 2nd tow truck that was sent. We tried to explain we need a flat bed when we called for a tow.

Saturday Afternoon
Our son and his fiance were stopped by on Saturday afternoon and as usual the our conversation turned to their wedding plans. I asked Re if she would like to try on my wedding dress and she jumped on the opportunity. After a few giggles about the style she slipped into my dress and we went outside to take a few pictures.
Yep, the prairie style was popular back in 1978!

Chaco Canyon
Our first sightseeing visit was to Chaco Canyon. It was a beautiful day in the high 70's. A little sunscreen and a hat and we were off to do some exploring!

How was your weekend?
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. My Hubby and I took a short vacation over the weekend. And we packed a lot of sightseeing into 2 days! First we flew to Denver and then to Farmington, New Mexico. On the first leg we flew on a large airliner, the second leg was on this plane.
Hmm, I'm not to sure about this!!!
Hmm, I'm not to sure about this!!!
in the cockpit window. I was very happy we took off from another
runway!!!!
Surprise, I enjoyed this leg more than the first leg! Almost no turbulence and it was clear the whole time. Amazing scenery, you could see pockets of bright yellow where the aspens have changed colors. Just beautiful.
I was however grateful that I had not seen the runways in Farmington until the after we took off for our trip home. The Farmington airport sets on top a large Mesa and the runways begin and end at the edges of the Mesa.
I'll be sharing some pictures this week of some of the places we visited. It's amazing how much you can fit into a weekend.
