Oh My!! This summer flew by!!

 

It's been a fun summer and I will be sorry to see it end.  Our tomatoes are late this year and are just now turning red.   Soon I'll be having BLTs with vine ripened tomatoes!!!!!  Oh and don't for forget the Best Foods Mayo!!  We've spent time with family and good friends this summer what more can anyone ask for?

Something Different

This Biggs Jasper cab has been setting on my bench for 2 plus years just waiting patiently for me to create a special setting.  Well, I think I managed to do just that.

Hornitos Poppy Jasper, Wind, Rain and a New Roof

This is a yummy piece of Hornitos Poppy Jasper I purchased in January of this year.

It has a wonderful color combination of burgundy matrix , rosy red and pale pink "poppies"

 

We have been waiting for a break in our weather to put on a new roof and new gutters and last week was beautiful here in Oregon!  We even hit 70degrees a couple of days.  As usual it was our spring teaser and we were back to rain and wind with much cooler temperature over the weekend and this week.  The joke here in Oregon is it rains until July 5th and then out comes the sun.

 

 

This was the largest branch down in our yard. Some of our neighbors had larger branches and about 2 blocks away a large tree took out some power lines.

But our new roof and gutters were just fine!!!!!!!

 

 

You just have to love a new roof!!!!

Our First Cabochons

What we did on Sunday

 

Hubby and I took a class today on making cabochons.  Here are our very first cabs, mine is on the left and his is on the right.  I think we did fantastic for our first time.  We still the to clean off the dabbing wax, but they are ready to set in to something special for each of us.

It took us over an hour longer than usualy to drive over Mt Hood on Hwy 26 last weekend.

Thankful for those who plow, gravel and sand Hwy 26 so we could make the trip over Mt. Hood
